Bowman's Sports Book Upgrades Phone System, Adds to Web Site

19 September 1999

Bowman International, a major offshore sportsbook based on the island of Mauritius, has a new phone system and has added more information to its Web site, www.bowmans.com.

The company said clients had been having trouble getting through with the old system. The new communications system was put in operation in time for the beginning of the National Football League season on Sept. 12.

"What this means,'' Bowman's said, "is we fully expect there to be no more 'dead air' and numerous busy signal calls when you phone our Bowman Bet Direct service. It is our firm belief that all of our client's calls will go through quickly and clearly.''

The new numbers are: 1-800-944-4466 from the United States and 1- 888-944-2244 from Canada.

Bowman's also said it has switched to the Don Best Sports Rotation. And the company will now post odds on its Web site that are updated every 20 to 30 seconds. When the live line feed is improved, lines will be updated immediately as they change.

Bowman's Web site now contains much of the information that bettors need for handicapping, sports news, previews, box scores, same-day and three-day pitching matchups, league news, standings, complete team stats for all sports, power ratings, opening lines, top 25 rankings and Winston Cup rankings and driver stats.

Bowman's has been in business 15 years. It moved offshore from its original base in Manchester, England, to avoid steep gaming taxes.
