Bodog.com Sponsors Movie Premiere

30 September 2005

LOS ANGELES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Bodog.com served as a co-sponsor for the red-carpet World Premiere of the Morgan Creek Productions and Universal Pictures drama "Two for the Money" on Monday, September 26. Held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the star-studded event featured appearances by the film's stars, Al Pacino, Matthew McConaughey, Rene Russo, Jaime King and Jeremy Piven, along with attendees Serena and Venus Williams, Jim Rome, Harry Dean Stanton, Cole Hauser and the film's subject, legendary football tout Brandon Lane. The event's after party, also co-sponsored by Bodog, was held immediately following the screening at the Academy.

The after party featured celebrities and guests sitting down to play No Limit Texas Hold'em at four Bodog poker tables. Although no money was at stake, the competition for bragging rights was fierce. As a co-sponsor, Bodog.com logos were prominent on the red carpet throughout the event and on the poker tables.

"As the hottest gamblíng site on the web, Bodog.com, is thrilled to be involved with a film showcasing some of the hottest actors in Hollywood," said Calvin Ayre, Bodog's Founder and CEO. "Since the film deals with the sports gaming industry, and Bogdog.com features the largest online sportsbook, sponsoring the premiere and after party seemed like a natural fit for the Bodog brand."

In "Two for the Money," McConaughey plays a former college football star who aligns himself with a renowned and successful bookie, played by Pacino. The mentor/protégé relationship goes haywire when Pacino begins manipulating McConaughey into crossing the line both legally and morally, forcing a showdown between the two.

In honor of Bodog's involvement with the "Two for the Money" premiere, the sportsbook has posted a proposition bet on whether the film will make $20 million on its opening weekend.

Bodog.com is considered the "go to" source for entertainment proposition bets, and has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of wagers placed on pop-culture propositions in the last few years. Possible wagers include betting on who will wín (or be next to be kicked off) network reality shows, what actor will be cast as the next James Bond and what label will sign rapper MASE.
