Bodog.com Favors Bengals

21 October 2005

COSTA RICA – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The battle for the AFC North could very well be decided this Sunday. The surprising Cincinnati Bengals have the chance to push the Pittsburgh Steelers three games back in the standings when the teams square off at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals (5-1) opened as 1-point favorites as Bodog.com gears up for Week 7 of the NFL season.

"Sunday's showdown pits two of the NFL's highest-rated quarterbacks against each other in a crucial midseason test for these division rivals, " says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com. "The Bengals' Carson Palmer was 0-2 last season against the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger, a record Palmer is sure to want to reverse."

After suffering a knee injury two weeks ago against the San Diego Chargers, Roethlisberger is slated to return for this difficult road test. The Steelers (3-2) are coming off an overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and will need Roethlisberger to hang on to the ball against a Bengals' defense that leads the league in interceptions and turnovers.

In other games, the San Diego Chargers travel cross-country to face the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, who are coming off a bye week. A rested Donovan McNabb means the Eagles (3-2) should be ready to counter the offensive charge of LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates and San Diego (3-3). The Chargers showed what they are capable of after their stellar performance against the Raiders in last week's 27-14 win.

Bodog.com bookmakers currently have the Eagles as 3-point favorites for Sunday's game.
