Blues, Country and Rock Stars Coming to Grand Casinos This Summer

ONAMIA, Minn., June 1 (Press Release) -- Legendary blues guitarist B.B. King and the new Grand Blues Fest are just two of the many terrific concerts coming to Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley this summer.

The Grand Blues Fest on June 18 is a marathon event featuring Elvin Bishop, Big House, Bobby Blue Bland, Charlie Musselwhite, Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts, and Corey Stevens. The music starts at 1 p.m. at the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater and carries on into the night. Tickets are $26, $34 and $47.

More great blues comes to town August 27 when the ``King of the Blues'' B.B. King appears along with Koko Taylor the ``Queen of Chicago Blues,'' Buddy Guy the ``Chicago Blues King,'' and new sensation Tommy Castro. The B.B. King Blues Festival kicks off at 4 p.m. at the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater. Tickets are $36, $41 and $48.

The full line-up of great summer events is:

     June 16 & 17   Country crooner Ronnie Milsap appears both nights at
                    8 p.m. at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs Events & Convention
                    Center.  Tickets are $19 and $24.

     June 18        Grand Blues Fest fills the Grand Casino Hinckley
                    Amphitheater beginning at 1 p.m.  Tickets are $26, $34 and
                    $47.

     June 29        Minnesota heats up with the Southern rock sounds of 38
                    Special with special guest The Marshall Tucker Band at the
                    Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets
                    are $19, $24 and $30.

     July 16        Life's been good to former Eagles singer Joe Walsh, who
                    brings his distinctive voice to the Grand Casino Hinckley
                    Amphitheater at 4 p.m. Tickets are $19, $24 and $30.

     July 28        The Moody Blues bring their lush, lyrical classic rock
                    style to the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater at 8 p.m.
                    Tickets are $28, $38 and $45.

     August 20      Bill Cosby delights with the comedy genius that has won
                    him five Emmys and five Grammys.  He'll do a 4 p.m. show
                    at the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater.  Tickets are
                    $26, $31 and $36.

     August 27      The B.B. King Blues Festival brings living blues legends
                    to the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater at 4 p.m.
                    Tickets are $36, $41 and $48.

    And already announced for early fall:

     September 21   Country music outlaw Waylon Jennings appears with wife
                    Jessi Colter, the Waymore Blues Band, and special guest
                    Tracy Bird starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Casino
                    Hinckley Amphitheater.  Tickets are on sale now for $23,
                    $32 and $39.

     October 8      Legends of Country Music take the stage at the Grand
                    Casino Mille Lacs Events & Convention Center.  Classic
                    country performers will include Ray Price, Johnny
                    Paycheck, The Kitty Wells Family, Hank Thompson, and Gene
                    Watoon.  Ralph Emery will serve as master of ceremonies
                    for the event.  Times and ticket prices will be announced
                    later.
