Bingo.com Acknowledged as a Top e-Business23 June 2000MARINA DEL REY, Calif.--(Press Release)--June 23, 2000--Bingo.com Inc. (OTCBB:BIGR - news), a vertical Internet media and entertainment company, Friday announced that it has been included among the top 25 e-businesses according to an extensive survey conducted by Bain & Company, a leading global strategy consulting firm, and published by The Globe and Mail newspaper. The Bain & Company's E25 survey is the first ever to document and list the rankings of the top 25 online firms. The methodology employed by the survey used interviews and public information to ascertain the rankings of each of the companies. The structure of the E25 survey evaluates each firm on a 100-point scale allocated between five factors: strategic innovation (30 points), impact (30 points), execution (30 points), funding (5 points) and fame (5 points). Of the 285 companies that were evaluated, only 100 scored high enough in the five categories to be considered the best future prospects in the dot-com niche and Bingo.com received the eighth highest ranking of those considered. The results of the survey revealed that Bingo.com scored 26 points for strategic innovation, 21 points for strategic impact, 23 points for execution, 2 points for funding and 3.5 points for fame, with an overall total of 75.5 points, placing it in the top 10. The Bain & Company survey revealed that Bingo.com is adding an average of about 1,000 new registered users per day, largely women in small towns and rural areas between the ages of 25 and 40. Bingo.com has surpassed 40 million bingo cards played and boasts more than 200,000 registered users with an average user session of more than 60 minutes. The company's strategy has so far been very effective with an audience that is growing by about 65 percent per month. Much of that success can be attributed to Bingo.com's ability to leverage its first-hand knowledge of the online entertainment and games industry into an innovative technology attracting a highly diverse customer base. ``We believe that Bingo.com has entered the ranks of the top E25 on the strength of its innovation, highly focused execution of business strategies, strong leadership and its presence in a growing market that is in a consolidation phase,'' said Shane Murphy, CEO of Bingo.com. ``We are pleased with this recent acknowledgement by the Bain & Company survey, as it underscores Bingo.com's achievements and persistent dedication to delivering to our users an enjoyable online game experience.'' Entertainment and game sites have become increasingly popular and are showing unprecedented growth rates and value within the World Wide Web. Bingo.com is leveraging its Internet presence into a more comprehensive game arena where visitors will be able to play a variety of bingo and other games and enjoy the chance to win points, which can translate into a variety of prizes. With an average per-user session in excess of 60 minutes, Bingo.com provides one of the most enjoyable game and community experiences available on the Internet. |
