Big Game Rolls to $56 Million

20 March 2002

NEW YORK –(Press Release) -- Of all the multi-state lottery games in the United States, The Big Game still has the highest jackpot. No one correctly guessed the numbers for last night's $48 million drawing, so the jackpot for Friday night's drawing advances to an estimated $56 million.

Although there was no jackpot winner, there were still 370,764 winning tickets. Last night's winning numbers were 17-28-31-35-37 and The Big Money Ball was 07.

Four tickets came within one number of winning. They matched five of the six winning numbers, and only missed the Big Money Ball number. Those tickets, which were sold in Georgia, Michigan and Virginia, are worth $150,000 each.

The Big Game made history in May of 2000 with the largest jackpot in North American history: $363 million.

The Big Game is currently played in seven states -- Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia. New York and Ohio have announced plans to join the game within the next few months. That is expected to mean major changes, which will be announced soon.
