Big Game Jackpot Stays Largest in U.S8 April 2002ILLINOIS – (Press Release) -- Millions of Big Game players had their eyes on the prize Friday night (04/05/02), and while 12 tickets came close to the grand prize, no one grabbed the brass ring to take home the nation's largest jackpot. The jackpot, estimated at $117 million now rolls to $150 million for Tuesday night (04/09/02). Last night's winning numbers were 08-21-35-47-50 and the Big Money Ball was 15. Twelve lucky ticket holders won the Big Game's second prize of $150,000. They matched five of the six winning numbers, and only missed the Big Money Ball number. One (1) ticket was sold in Georgia, two (2) tickets were sold in Illinois, three (3) were sold in Massachusetts, two (2) were sold in Maryland, one (1) was sold in Michigan, two (2) were sold in New Jersey and one (1) was sold in Virginia. So, what can $150 million buy? Here are some thought provoking ideas: 4 Boeing 717 - 100 seat jets @ $35 million each (you'll even have a bit left over for fuel) 18,750 New Sony LCD 61 Inch Wide screen TV's @ $8,000 each (what a cool gift for 18,000 people and there will still be 750 left for you!) 1260 Mercedes Benz S600 Luxury Cars @ $119,000 each 6 Original Paintings by Claude Monet @ approx. $22 million each (not that six would be available for sale... but if they were!) The Big Game made history in May of 2000 with the largest jackpot in North American history: $363 million. The Big Game is currently played in seven states - Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia. New York and Ohio have announced plans to join the game within the next few months. That is expected to mean major changes, which will be announced soon. |
