Big Game Jackpot Revised to $220 Million12 April 2002ILLINOIS – (Press Release) -- The hottest ticket in town is the Big Game. In fact, so many people have been playing since Tuesday night's drawing that today Big Game forecasters updated the estimated jackpot to $220 million. The advertised jackpot amount is an estimate of how much money will be in the jackpot prize pool by Friday night's drawing. The jackpot amount is constantly changing, because it is based on the number of tickets sold. So by raising the estimated jackpot, forecasters are saying that Big Game sales are extremely strong. There was no jackpot winner in Tuesday night's drawing, but there were literally millions of other winners ranging from $1 to $150,000. Players need to remember to check their tickets even if they know they haven't won the jackpot, because they may have won a different prize. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 76 million. The odds of winning any prize are one in 31. The record for the highest jackpot awarded in North American history is held by The Big Game: $363 million in May of 2000. The Big Game is currently played in seven states - Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia. But changes are on the way!
