Big Game Jackpot Grows to $42 Million

13 March 2002

NEW JERSEY – (Press Release) -- So you think nobody won last night's Big Game drawing? Not so. Even without a jackpot winner, more than 286,000 winning tickets were sold, for more than $1.4 million in prizes. So the jackpot for Friday night's Big Game drawing grows to an estimated annuity value of $42 million.

Last night's winning numbers were 04-08-20-29-47 and The Big Money Ball was 05.

Three tickets came within just one number of winning last night's $36 million jackpot. They matched five of the six winning numbers, and only missed the Big Money Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Georgia, Illinois and New Jersey.

The Big Game made history in May of 2000 with the largest jackpot in North American history: $363 million.

The Big Game is currently played in seven states -- Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia. New York and Ohio have announced plans to join the game within the next few months. That is expected to mean major changes, which will be announced soon
