Big Game Jackpot Climbs $115 Million

3 April 2002

ILLINOIS -- (Press Release) -- Just how big is a $115 million jackpot? Well, if you take $115 million and count one dollar per second, 24 hours a day, it would take more than 3 1/2 years to count all the money.

This morning, more than 3/4 million ticket holders can count on prizes from last night's Big Game drawing. That number of tickets adds up to more than $4 million in prizes now waiting to be claimed. However, no one won last night's big prize, the $92 million jackpot. So the jackpot for Friday night's drawing grows to an estimated $115 million.

The Big Game made history in May of 2000 with the largest jackpot in North American history: $363 million.

The Big Game is currently played in seven states - Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia. New York and Ohio have announced plans to join the game within the next few months. That is expected to mean major changes, which will be announced soon.
