BGI Names Reckdenwald as New President and CEO

4 December 2001

AUSTIN, Texas--(Press Release)--Dec. 4, 2001-- BGI (OTCBB:BGII) today announced that the Board of Directors has appointed executive vice president, Ed Reckdenwald, to the position of president and chief executive officer.

With this new appointment, Reckdenwald assumes full responsibility for all aspects of BGI's growth, sales and marketing strategies and operations. BGI's founder, Reid Funderburk, will continue in a key leadership position as the chairman of the board and will continue to direct new product development and market expansion activities.

``I have enjoyed the tremendous success that BGI has achieved over the past seven years,'' said Funderburk. ``With the established success of the Charity Station, and the formation of a strong management infrastructure, the Company is well positioned for growth and expansion. Now that my original vision has come to fruition, I feel that my contributions to the Company would most effectively be spent on developing new, innovative products and on penetrating new markets across the United States, as well as worldwide.''

Funderburk continued, ``The framework for expansion is now in place, and at this time the Company is fortunate to have Ed Reckdenwald assume the position of president and CEO. Ed has outperformed the Board's expectations over the past months, and we now feel that the time is appropriate for this transition. With Ed's strong leadership skills and vision for the future, we have every confidence that he will continue to excel at creating shareholder value.''

``Reid has instilled an infectious passion for the business, and I look forward to continuing his track record of accomplishments,'' said Reckdenwald. ``We've had two remarkable quarters of growth since the introduction of the Charity Station, and our fourth quarter is shaping up to be equally impressive. In October alone, BGI recorded over $850,000 in revenue, with net income of approximately $559,000 -- results, in one month, that eclipse that of our entire second quarter this year. Our business is strong, our strategy is in place, and I look forward to the challenges and rewards ahead.''

Ed Reckdenwald joined BGI as executive vice president in August of 2001, bringing nearly a decade of experience in sales and operations management from Dell Computers, Bernard C. Harris Publishing, American Express Travel Related Services and Shearson Lehman Hutton.
