BetWWTS.com Updates Oscar Odds

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (PRESS RELEASE) -- All eyes will be on Hollywood's brightest stars Sunday night when the winners of the 77th Annual Academy Awards(R) are revealed. BetWWTS.com was the first bookmaker in the world to open betting on this year's Oscars(R), releasing odds only minutes after the nominees were announced on January 25. Expecting nearly $100,000 in wagers on the six major categories, BetWWTS.com today released updated odds on this year's Oscars.

In the Best Motion Picture category, The Aviator remains the film to beat, going from 4/7 when betting opened to currently being 1/2 to win the Oscar, with Million Dollar Baby now a close second at 6/5 odds. This year's sure thing to win an Oscar appears to be Jamie Foxx in the Best Actor category, whose odds have gone all the way to an unheard of 1/12 after opening as a 1/5 favorite. Hilary Swank appears poised to capture her second Oscar for her role in Million Dollar Baby where she is now listed as the favorite to capture Best Actress at 1/5 odds. In the race for Best Supporting Actor, Morgan Freeman has vaulted into favorite status moving from 9/4 when betting opened to 2/7. Meanwhile Cate Blanchett is now the most likely to capture Best Supporting Actress honors at 1/3 odds. The Best Director category is simply a two-horse race with Martin Scorsese the 1/2 favorite over Clint Eastwood, who stands at 6/5 to win the award.
