14 March 2003

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (Press Release) -- The Men's NCAA tournament has become the biggest betting time of the year as the proliferation of wagering on the tournament and office pools becomes even more widespread. With the increasing popularity of "March Madness" and betting on the tournament, this year anticipates taking more than the $25 million in wagers the company received on last year's NCAA tournament.

Combined, all Las Vegas sports books are expected to receive over $80 million in bets on this year's NCAA tournament, so it is easy to predict that will handle more in wagers than any single sports book on the Las Vegas strip. "March Madness" has easily surpassed the Super Bowl as the biggest betting time of the year because the event consists of 64 games played within a three week period and will receive more bets on the NCAA tournament than any other sporting event for the year.

"Each year the men's NCAA tournament captures the imagination of basketball fans everywhere, with Cinderella stories and upsets becoming an annual tradition each March," said Simon Noble, CEO of "The tournament has become the most heavily bet annual sporting event and this year we anticipate betting on 'March Madness' continuing to grow exponentially -- we are certain that will exceed $25 million in wagers on the 2003 tournament alone."

A leading offshore gaming company for over 10 years, will offer betting options on all 64 games of the NCAA tournament including various proposition bets on the tournament. The company will open the betting lines on this year's NCAA tournament moments after the tournament selection committee officially releases the bracket match ups Sunday night.
