BetWWTS.com Offers Odds on Nextel Cup

2 September 2004

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The first year of the new scoring system for the NASCAR Nextel Cup has created unprecedented excitement among racing fans. With only two races remaining to determine which drivers will qualify for the "Chase for the Championship," 16 drivers remain in contention for the available spots. Today, leading sports betting company BetWWTS.com revved up its engine for NASCAR's 10-race playoff series by announcing updated odds on which driver will win the Nextel Cup.

A leading offshore gaming company for over 10 years, BetWWTS.com has created individual odds for the 16 NASCAR drivers that could still qualify for the "Chase for the Championship." Attempting to win his fifth career NASCAR Cup championship, Jeff Gordon is listed by BetWWTS.com as the early favorite to win this year's Nextel Cup at 2/1 odds. Racing in only his third year on the circuit, Jimmie Johnson has been listed with the second best odds at 3/1 followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. who comes in at 7/2 odds in only his fifth year in NASCAR Cup racing.

BetWWTS.com has listed the volatile Tony Stewart at 6/1 to capture the championship followed by last year's NASCAR Cup winner Matt Kenseth at 7/1. Other drivers that could capture the Nextel Cup include: Kurt Busch (12/1), Ryan Newman (15/1), Elliot Sadler (18/1), Kevin Harvick (25/1), Bobby Labonte (25/1) and Kasey Kahne (25/1). Meanwhile the odds makers at BetWWTS.com feel some drivers currently fighting to qualify for the NASCAR playoffs are long shots to win this year's NASCAR title including: Mark Martin (35/1), Jeremy Mayfield (35/1), Jamie McMurray (40/1), Dale Jarrett (40/1) and Casey Mears (5000/1).

"When NASCAR first announced the new scoring system, racing fans were skeptical of the dramatic change, but like the wild card in baseball, this has added a thrilling element never seen before in the sport," said Michael Perry, odds maker at BetWWTS.com. "With seven drivers essentially clinching positions in the 'Chase for the Championship' already, you have nine others competing for the final spots. Those nine are a diverse mix of proven veterans like Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin and Bobby Labonte and youngsters like rookie Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray and Kevin Harvick, which will have racing fans of all ages and eras pulling for their favorite drivers."

BetWWTS.com will offer odds on who will win the Nextel Cup Championship throughout the remainder of the NASCAR season including the "Chase for the Championship." In addition, the company will continue to offer unique odds on individual NASCAR races including driver match-ups.
