BetWWTS.com Offers Odds on 2008 Presidential Race

9 November 2004

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Now that President George W. Bush was successful last week in his bid for another four years in office, it's time to look ahead to the 2008 Presidential election. After correctly predicting that the incumbent Bush would win reelection, BetWWTS.com has calculated odds on the 2008 Presidential election, including who will win nomination for President by the Republican and Democratic Parties.

A leading offshore gaming operator for over 10 years, BetWWTS.com has created odds on a number of politicians winning their party's nomination for President in 2008. It's no surprise that former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has been made the overwhelming favorite to be the Republican candidate for the presidency at 1/5 odds (i.e., win $1 for every $5 bet). BetWWTS.com lists Arizona Senator John McCain with the second best odds of becoming the Republican nominee at 7/1 odds, followed by New York Governor George Pataki and current Secretary of State Colin Powell both at 15/1. President Bush's brother and current Governor of Florida Jeb Bush stands at 20/1 to become the Republican nominee, while "The Governator," California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is the long shot at 100/1 odds.

On the other side of the political spectrum, BetWWTS.com has installed Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards as the early favorite to be the party's 2008 presidential candidate at 3/2 odds. Former First Lady and current New York Senator Hilary Clinton has the second best odds to win the Democratic candidacy at 5/2 odds, while the odds on John Kerry taking a second shot at the White House in 2008 are 6/1. If he can refrain from any screaming rants, BetWWTS.com feels the Democrats could put Howard Dean on the ticket as the party candidate in 2008 and lists his chances at 8/1 odds. Former Vice President Al Gore is a long shot to become the presidential nominee at 20/1, while rising star of the Democratic Party and newly elected Senator of Illinois Barack Obama stands at 24/1.

BetWWTS.com has also calculated odds on which party will win the 2008 election and lists the Republican Party as the favorite to capture the White House again at 10/17 odds (i.e., win $10 for every $17 bet). The odds that the Democrats can remove the Republicans from the White House stand at 7/5 odds, while the odds on any other political party taking office are 1000/1.
