Betway raises £70K for English Federation of Disability Sport

14 December 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Betway Group has announced that its employees have raised over £70,000 for one of its charity partners, the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS).

EFDS works to make active lives possible by enabling organizations to support individual disabled people to be active and stay active for life. The national charity looks to a better future where everyone can enjoy the opportunities available. Established in September 1998, EFDS has a vision that disabled people are active for life.

The funds raised will go towards EFDS's Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI), which supports facility providers to improve their services to become more inclusive to disabled people. IFI relies on sponsorship and fundraising to increase opportunities for disabled people to be active in their local areas. Also, volunteering opportunities, that enable more disabled people to take part in events.

In 2016, over 100 Betway employees participated in the Silverstone Half Marathon raising £25,000 for the same charity.

Commenting on this latest fund-raising achievement, Betway's CEO Anthony Werkman, said, "We are really pleased to have raised over £70,000 for the English Federation of Disability Sport and are proud of all Betway Group employees who have contributed to this worthy cause. We are always looking to contribute to different charities and in 2018, our employees will vote on which charities Betway should partner with."
