BetUS.com offers odds on which vegetable is recalled next

11 October 2006

NEW YORK -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The FDA first posted a statement in multiple states warning the public to avoid bagged spinach due to an E. coli outbreak in early September. Recently, bags of lettuce have been pulled off shelves along the West Coast for the same reasons. This being the case, BetUS.com has given the public a chance to weigh in and has posted odds on which vegetable will be recalled next.

According to the analysts at BetUS.com, mushrooms are the favored at 6/1 with Garlic being the least likely at 20/1. All other vegetables are running a tight race.

Analysts posted the following odds regarding which vegetable will be recalled:

Garlic- 20/1

Cauliflower- 8/1

Mushroom- 6/1

Carrot- 8/1

Broccoli- 10/1

Squash- 14/1

Cucumber- 10/1

Red Cabbage- 14/1

String Beans-10/1

Asparagus- 10/1

"At BetUS we try to take negatives and turn them into positives," said spokesman Christopher Bennett. "We think this is an entertaining wager that everyone can enjoy since they can't enjoy the vegetable of their choice." Licensed and bonded in two recognized gaming jurisdictions, Canada and Costa Rica, BetUS.com employs over 500 people and offers service to more than 100,000 clients.
