Betfair Targets Women Poker Players

LONDON – As reported by the UK Digital Bulletin: "Betfair has unleashed a huge marketing drive to get women into online poker, including the prize of a handsome poker dealer paying a home visit.

"…The marketing aims to softly introduce women aged over 21 to the brand and, as part of this, Betfair has unveiled a series of five weekly online tournaments, which let 500 women play for free every Tuesday night, for a cash prize of £500.

"The winner of each tournament will get a seat at a final live event for 300 players. The other players at this live tournament will be selected from players who appear on the site's leader board as women who play consistently well.

"…The overall winner of the live tournament will go on to play at the World Series of Poker Ladies Event in Las Vegas in the summer, while the runners up compete for a prize pool of £3,000…"
