Betfair Pushes for Tasmanian License

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation: "A British-based Internet betting company says 150 Tasmanian jobs would be created if the State Government grants its website gambling exchange a license.

"While the Tasmanian Government remains undecided on betting exchanges, the Greens and the Liberals have voiced their opposition.

"…Betfair spokesman Mark Davies says while the company will continue to take bets from London, it would prefer to have an Australian headquarters, employing up to 150 people…"
