BetandWin to Expand European Market25 September 2002VIENNA, Austria – As reported by the Dow Jones: "Austrian online betting company BetandWin.com Interactive Entertainment AG said Wednesday it will now concentrate on expanding in core Europe, rather than emerging markets. "In a statement, the company said there were fewer opportunities and higher entry costs for online betting in emerging markets than in core Europe. "BetandWin.com also said it has temporarily suspended its project in the Philippines, due to business policy differences with joint-venture partner and license holder SAGE and the Philippine gaming authority PAGCOR. "…In developed markets with high Internet penetration, there are lower growth rates for sports betting distribution via self-service terminals than for online business, the company said." |
