Bet with Britain's Big Name Bookmaker

24 March 2000

LONDON, March 24 (Press Release) - Bookmakers William Hill - the best known Name in British betting - are offering exiled British punters and foreign fans of horse racing a unique opportunity to place tax free bets on British racing and then to listen to live commentaries of the races, wherever they may be in the world.

William Hill's tax free, international internet site, http://www.willhill.com is now featuring exclusive live commentaries on a daily basis from the principal British race meeting of each afternoon, together with live greyhound racing commentaries - enabling punters to place their bets via credit card then listen to the races unfold.

This week has seen the start of the 2000 turf flat season, and its first major event is Saturday's Worthington Lincoln Handicap, run over 1 mile at Doncaster at 3.40pm, for which Hill's currently quote Tayseer as 4/1 favourite, with John Ferneley and Muchea both offered at 8/1, with last year's winner, Right Wing, a 10/1 chance ahead of River Times at 12/1.

William Hill are also offering a full range of sporting bets including British domestic football (soccer) and major golf tournaments - with Tiger Woods currently quoted as 2/1 favorite to win the US Masters - the shortest odds ever offered about a player to win a major - and at just 33/1 to win the coveted Grand Slam - for which Hill's will offer 1000/1 about any other named player. Hill's already face a 1m pounds sterling payout if Woods wins the Grand Slam.
