So get your guess's in quickly!" Also check out www.WhenWillTysonBiteAgain.com. The site was originally created on January 29th 2002, shortly after Tyson bit Lennox Lewis. "Tyson also bit Evander Holyfield back in 1999, so make sure to get your bids in because he is likely to bit again soon." For those rushing to add to the prize money, note that Tyson and Lewis meet this Spring. The International Boxing Federation granted world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis' request to fight Mike Tyson as his next bout. It was announced February 26, 2002 by the Lewis camp. Mike Tyson is the World Boxing Council's number one contender; Chris Byrd is the International Boxing Federation's number one contender. This situation required that Lennox Lewis request permission from the IBF to fight Mike Tyson. Last month Byrd went to court to block any request that permission be granted to fight Mike Tyson. That attempt was denied by Chief United States District Court Judge John Bissell. The application was thereupon made by Lennox Lewis and the ruling by the IBF Executive Committee was issued today. As part of its ruling the IBF stipulated that the Lewis/Tyson bout must take place no later than June 2002. June 8 is the working date for the bout. |
