Bermuda Court Turns Crown's Application8 November 2002BERMUDA – As reported by the Bermuda Sun: "The Supreme Court yesterday turned down an application by the Crown to take back gambling machines the courts returned to The Beach bar last week. "Lawyer Mark Pettingill told the media yesterday that `The Beach gets to keep their machines for good hopefully.' "…Mr. Pettingill represents the majority of the establishments — The Beach, The Porch, The Plush, Lucky Strike Casino and Freddie's Restaurant and Bar — that were raided during a large-scale police/customs operation more than two weeks ago…" |
