BC Township Formally Opposes Casino Project

28 July 2003

LANGLEY, British Columbia – As reported by the Province: “Langley Township will file a formal objection today against a proposed casino in neighbouring Langley City.

“Township Mayor Kurt Alberts said the township was not given an opportunity to register its views on the project, which has been approved by Langley City.

“…Extra policing and traffic can be managed, said Alberts, but `what you can't deal with is the perception, image and character that goes along with having a casino in your community.’…”
