Barona Casino and VCAT Announce Involvement in California Indian Gaming Summit

Sponsored by GEM Communications, the California Indian Gaming Summit will be held in at the Riviera Resort and Racquet Club in Palm Springs, Calif. on March 25-26, with the Slot Manager Institute following on March 27.

``We will have a major presence at this Summit, which is attended by many California Tribes currently in the midst of making major decisions about present and future casino plans,'' said Don Speer, chairman and CEO of VCAT. ``The Barona/VCAT relationship has set the standard for California gaming and we are happy to be sharing critical industry knowledge with others who may be looking for help and advice.''

-- Fritz Opel, Marketing Consultant for VCAT "The Expansion of Gaming in California," March 26, 3:30 p.m.

-- Mary Shick, Executive Director of Marketing for Barona Casino "The Evolving Market," March 27, 9:30 a.m.

-- Donne Grable, Director of Slot Operations for Barona Casino "Beyond Tickets: Leveraging Technology on the Slot Floor," March 27, 10:45 a.m.

-- Javier Saenz, Director of Information Solutions for VCAT, and Pam Owens, Club Barona Manager for Barona Casino "Differentiating Your Slot Club," March 27, 2:15 p.m.

In addition to the panel speeches, Barona Casino and VCAT are together a $9,000 sponsor of the conference. This sponsorship funds a number of events during the summit, including the conference breakfasts on both March 26 and 27; a luncheon presentation on March 26 featuring Harlan Goodson, Director of California's Division of Gambling Control as the keynote speaker; and the ``Differentiating Your Slot Club'' panel discussion on March 27.
