Bally Technologies unveils new product

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, casino management systems and networked solutions for the global gaming industry, unveiled its new iVIEW(TM) Display Manager (DM)(TM) at its annual Systems User Conference in Las Vegas this week. The new technology will allow gaming operators to present systems content on the displays of all manufacturers' gaming machines through the iVIEW processor rather than the game processor, which would require separate regulatory approvals and complex development and integration efforts.

With Bally's iVIEW DM, gaming operators will be able to create picture-in-picture capability on the iVIEW display, the main game display, the second game display, or any game display associated with the device.

This is a significant benefit to gaming operators because they will not have to make any modifications to their existing games or purchase new games to implement this technology across any manufacturer's games. In addition, Bally's technology allows operators to implement new systems features and technology easier and quicker.

"By taking this approach, we will be able to continue this trend and bring innovation at a faster rate and with less complexity than by going through the game CPU, as is being suggested by some manufacturers. iVIEW DM is also consistent with Bally's strategy of providing an operator-owned Network of the Future that creates a ubiquitous experience, regardless of manufacturer."

"I was really intrigued by the clever approach for combining system-based customer-service features with game content on a variety of displays. This only gives gaming operators more choices."

In conjunction with technologies enabled through iVIEW Content Manager (CM)(TM) and Bally Power Bonusing(TM) products displayed through iVIEW DM, gaming operators can choose where on the game they want to display things like player name, session points, jackpots, promotional credits, casino and hotel specials and promotions, and any other systems content.

Bally, which has filed a provisional patent application on this technology concept, plans to begin its first live field trials of iVIEW DM with multiple customers as early as September 2008.
