Aztar Reports Death of Board Member

11 February 2003

PHOENIX, Arizona –(Press Release) -- Robert S. Rosow of San Antonio, Texas, a member of the board of directors of Aztar Corporation, died Saturday, February 8, following an illness. Mr. Rosow, an independent Certified Public Accountant, had served on Aztar's board since 1989 and was chairman of Aztar's audit committee. He also had served previously on the board of directors of Ramada Inc. from 1969 until 1989 when Ramada was restructured and Aztar was formed.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bob Rosow," said Paul E. Rubeli, Aztar chairman of the board and chief executive officer. "His high standards and his commitment to shareholder interests were unparalleled, and his thoughtful advice will be deeply missed."

Aztar is a publicly traded company that operates Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ramada Express Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, Casino Aztar in Caruthersville, Missouri, and Casino Aztar in Evansville, Indiana.
