Automated Wagering International and Delaware State Lottery Sign Agreement

11 September 2001

LAS VEGAS, Nevada –(Press Release) --Sept. 11, 2001 -- Anchor Gaming (Nasdaq: SLOT) announced today that its on-line lottery subsidiary, Automated Wagering International (AWI), has been awarded a new contract with the State of Delaware to provide equipment and services to the Delaware State Lottery.

The new contract will be for an initial term of seven years with up to five one-year extensions available at the option of the Lottery. AWI has been the incumbent provider since 1978. The current contract expires on September 30, 2002 and the new contract takes effect October 1, 2002.

The contract calls for AWI to provide the on-line lottery central system, in addition to retailer terminals and other products and services. AWI will also provide a video lottery central system and related equipment to monitor gaming machines at the state's three racetracks. AWI will provide support services to the Delaware State Lottery that will include retailer support, field services and marketing support.

``AWI's response to our Request for Proposal was complete and thorough. We believe the equipment and services that will be provided by AWI will help the Delaware State Lottery expand and grow throughout the length of the contract,'' said Wayne Lemons, Director of the Delaware State Lottery.

``Anchor Gaming is pleased that AWI will continue its long and successful partnership with the Delaware State Lottery,'' said Christer Roman, COO of Gaming Systems for Anchor Gaming.

AWI provides on-line lottery systems, retailer terminals, system operation, and related services for eight states and holds lottery system contracts in seven foreign countries.
