Authorities Break Up Cheating Ring Involving Borgata Baccarat Dealer

ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: ``Gambling may be a game of chance, but four men upped their odds when they sat down at a mini-baccarat table at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Friday night.

``The game of chance became a game of cheating, but surveillance was onto them. State Police from the Special Investigations Unit, assigned to the Casino Unit, watched the table for about a week. Bill Tran, 42, of Atlantic City, was caught on video using a false shuffle.

``At about 11:52 p.m., police arrested Tran for conspiring to cheat in a casino game - a theft charge. The players - Sonny Ho, 41, of Atlantic City, Cuong Tu Ngo, 45, Brandon Luu, 37, and Wonkyu Go, 28, all of Pennsylvania - also were nabbed for theft, State Police Sgt. Kevin Rehmann said Saturday.

``…Authorities recovered several thousand dollars from the men, Rehmann said.

``Rehmann said the investigation continues into whether other people were a part of the cheating ring…"
