Australia's Doctors to Work With Problem Gamblers13 December 2001VICTORIA, Australia – Dec. 13, 2001 –As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation: "7,000 general practitioners across Victoria will be trained in the early detection and treatment of problem gamblers. "The Melbourne and Greater South-Eastern Divisions of General Practice and Gamblers Help City have developed a problems gamblers kit to educate GPs. "It includes case studies and interviews with problem gamblers describing how they got hooked. "The resource also shows GPs how problem gamblers can be identified through the detection of physical symptoms, and how they can be helped through appropriate intervention and referral…" |
