Australia's Aristocrat Leisure to Spilt Local, Overseas Revenues

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- Aug 30, 2000 – As reported by The Asia Pulse: "Poker machine company Aristocrat Leisure Ltd (ASX:ALL) is set to successfully carry out the 50/50 split between its Australian and overseas revenues by 2003 as planned, it announced.

"Aristocrat today reported a net profit for the first half of 2000 of $A27.155 million ($US15.46 million), up 20.6 percent.

"Aristocrat managing director Des Randall said the company's profit again highlighted the company's global expansion.

"…He said Aristocrat is now focused on developing infrastructure with new premises and more than trebling staff numbers to support increased growth in the US.

"`We anticipate making first sales into Nevada early next year once product is approved by regulators,' Mr Randall said.

"…Aristocrat chairman Frank Burke said this year should be viewed as a transition period where the company will continue to gain stready growth while its international businesses gear up for larger profit contributions once sales are secured into Nevada and Japan…"
