Aussie Gaming Reforms Set to Take Effect

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Courier-Mail: ``Victorian pokie players will soon know exactly how much time and money they lose at gaming venues under new gambling industry reforms announced today.

``Gaming Minister Minister John Pandazopoulos said under new laws to be enforced on July 1, the state's 535 poker machine venues - including Melbourne's Crown Casino - will be required to issue player activity statements to members of the scheme at least once a year.

``…Under the new reforms, clubs and hotel with gaming machines will also be required to issue community benefit statements to the public.

``…Mr Pandazopoulos said the new regulation will make it clear what clubs are doing for their local community…”
