Aussie Casino Pleads for Change in Laws23 December 2002AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Age: ``Crown Casino wants the Victorian Government to soften its stance on certain gaming regulations after being fined almost $140,000 in the past 10 months for breaches of the law. ``The Victorian Casino and Gaming Authority has fined Crown a total of $139,500 since February for a number of different breaches of gaming rules, including penalties of $1000 or more for allowing customers to bring infants on to the premises for a short time. ``Crown's government affairs spokesman Gary O'Neil said some of the incidents for which the casino was being fined were out of its control and called on the government to adopt a more flexible approach. Crown was fined $25,000 for improperly returning winnings to a gambler and $20,000 because it had two unlicensed employees working in a specialised area…" |
