Aussie Casino No Longer Crowning Glory, Says Review3 September 2003MELBOURNE, Australia – As reported by the Herald Sun: ``Crown casino has been warned that it needs a facelift or it risks losing its world-class status. ``The alert from the state's gaming regulator comes just six years after more than $2 billion was spent building the gambling mecca. ``A Victorian Casino and Gaming Authority review released yesterday indicated areas of the casino are on the brink of slipping below international standards. ```Some parts of the casino complex, such as the furnishings, are showing their age,' the report said. 'The authority expects Crown to redirect more funds to capital expenditure . . . to ensure the casino complex remains a world-class facility.' ``Crown, owned by the Packer family's PBL, was opened for business in May 1997…" |
