AtTheRaces to Launch This Month7 October 2002UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the attheraces, the gaming joint venture between BSkyB, Channel 4 and Arena Leisure, is expected to launch its long-awaited interactive TV betting service by the end of this month. "On completion of testing, the firm is aiming to start offering gambling through its Sky Digital channel 418 at around the same time as Channel 4 unveils its new Lunchtime Attheraces programme, scheduled for 28 October. "attheraces was set up by the three companies to exploit media rights associated with live racing across all technology and media platforms. "…While the company currently offers a telephone betting service, the upcoming launch will see gambling information updated on the channel every two minutes, and users being able to place bets through their remote control…" |
