Atronic to Develop Miami Vice Slots

25 August 2005

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Atronic, a leading provider of casino games and services, today announced its agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to develop slot machines based on the television series that defined the 1980's, Miami Vice. The slot machines will be available at casinos throughout the United States early 2006.

"We are very pleased to be working with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group and are excited about bringing Hollywood content to Atronic," said Joe Bailo, CEO of Atronic Americas. "80's retro is a global trend and Miami Vice has an iconic image that translates to all cultures."

Atronic will unveil the Miami Vice slot machines at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas in September. The Miami Vice penny progressive slots will be available on Atronic's innovative e-motion(TM) cabinet, which features dual screens, digital stereo sound and the industry's only height adjustable playfield.

"We are excited to launch Miami Vice slots at G2E," said Jason Stage, Market Research Manager, Games and Brands. "Atronic is always looking for new ways to enhance its game and product portfolio, and we feel the Miami Vice brand is an excellent addition to our existing brands. Miami Vice is an extremely well known brand and will appeal to our slot player target demographic as well as new players who fondly remember the T.V. show."

The Miami Vice television series is currently available on DVD and is Universal Studios Home Entertainment's best-selling T.V. on DVD release, generating $8 million in consumer spending. Additionally, Universal Pictures brings Miami Vice to the big screen in its motion picture debut scheduled for release in July 2006.
