Atlantic City Revenue Up for June

3 July 2003

“…Lady Luck helped the casinos overcome a sluggish June at the slot machines. Casinos won 16.8 percent of the money wagered at the tables, compared to a more typical 15.4 percent a year earlier. That helped table-games revenue increase 7.2 percent, to $97.5 million, despite lower wagering volumes.

“Revenue from slot machines, which accounts for three-fourths of the casinos' business, increased 1.2 percent to $285 million.

“…Showboat Casino-Hotel led the list of six casinos that reported revenue gains for the month. Showboat's new 544-room hotel tower helped boost gambling business by 9.2 percent for the month…”
