Atlantic City Revenue Up for June3 July 2003ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: “In the final month before Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa alters the performance of perhaps every casino in town for months to come, the gaming industry reported a 2.6 percent gain in June gross gambling revenue. “The 11 casinos won $382.5 million from gamblers, an increase of $9.8 million over the same month last year, according to unofficial results obtained Wednesday by The Press of Atlantic City. “…Lady Luck helped the casinos overcome a sluggish June at the slot machines. Casinos won 16.8 percent of the money wagered at the tables, compared to a more typical 15.4 percent a year earlier. That helped table-games revenue increase 7.2 percent, to $97.5 million, despite lower wagering volumes. “Revenue from slot machines, which accounts for three-fourths of the casinos' business, increased 1.2 percent to $285 million. “…Showboat Casino-Hotel led the list of six casinos that reported revenue gains for the month.
