Atlantic City Man Who Threatened to Kill Himself is Rescued

ATLANTIC CITY -- As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: ``A police negotiator coaxed an unidentified man down from a ninth-story ledge atop the Resorts Atlantic City parking garage Saturday morning.

``The incident began around 10:30 a.m., when security cameras captured the man, whose identity is being withheld by police, walking across the garage's roof, a Resorts spokeswoman said.

``The casino's security force immediately contacted the Police Department, which sent several officers - including the negotiator - and a ladder truck from the Fire Department to the scene.

``By the time authorities arrived, the man was sitting on a ledge at the edge of the garage's roof. ...he threatened to jump, police said. The negotiator tried to calm the man, and within a few minutes, the man agreed to leave the ledge..."
