Atlantic City Harrah's Approved for More Slots17 October 2002ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "…The Casino Control Commission on Wednesday allowed Harrah's Atlantic City to add 500 slot machines as part of an accelerated expansion. "`We're at capacity with the ones (450 slots) we just put in six months ago. Our win per unit (per day) has gone up since we put them in, which is unheard of,' Harrah's General Manager Dave Jonas said. "Harrah's had planned to install the slots just before Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa opened next summer but now plans to have them devouring coins and bills by year end. "The slots will be located in a 14,131-square-foot area created during Harrah's $200 million expansion, an area now partitioned off as dead space. "…With the expansion, Harrah's would surpass Caesars Atlantic City with the fourth-largest gaming floor in the city…" |
