AT&T Signs Deal with Harrah's

26 October 2005

LAS VEGAS –- (PRESS RELEASE) -- AT&T announced today it was awarded an $18 million integrated networking contract from Harrah's Operating Company Inc., a subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment Inc., the world's largest casino entertainment company. The three-year agreement renews and expands a longstanding relationship between the two companies.

AT&T's solution will seamlessly combine the networks of Harrah's and the recently acquired Caesars Entertainment Inc. to ensure voice and data flow reliably and securely on a single, integrated platform. The integrated network will enable systemwide deployment of customer relationship management and enterprise resource management applications that improve Harrah's business operations.

Recognizing the importance of protecting Harrah's network and quickly recovering from disasters and disruptions, AT&T also will upgrade Harrah's business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities. AT&T will support Harrah's mission-critical applications with a high-availability, enterprise-computing infrastructure and increased redundancy.

"We recently faced the reality of having to suspend some business operations as a result of a disaster, so we value what AT&T brings to the table," said David Richter, vice president of IT infrastructure for Harrah's. "One of the best things we can do for those affected by the recent Gulf Coast hurricanes is get back up and running, and network recovery is an important part of that."

AT&T has access to more than 80 sites and four million square feet of facilities to help implement disaster recovery assets. The company can supply both fixed location and mobile work center solutions to protect employees in the event of a disaster.

The contract also includes call center services, teleconferencing, domestic and international long-distance, and toll-free services.

Additionally, Harrah's can monitor the performance of its network and applications through the secure AT&T customer portal, AT&T BusinessDirect(R), which provides operational efficiencies including around-the-clock online access to real-time reports on network performance and direct connection to trouble management systems.
