Arizona Track Case Ruling Reversed6 August 2003ARIZONA – As reported by the Arizona Republic: “The Arizona Court of Appeals on Tuesday reversed a lower court that ruled in favor of Turf Paradise racetrack owner Jeremy Simms. “Simms wanted to provide off-track betting services to Indian casinos. However, in 2001, the state Department of Gaming told Simms that it intended to deny his application over questions raised in its investigation of his past business dealings. “… Simms asked to withdraw his application before the department made a formal ruling on it. “The department offered to allow him to withdraw the application if he would agree not to re-apply, but no such agreement was reached…” |
