Aristocrat's Penny Slots Launched

18 June 2002

LAS VEGAS--(Press Release)-- Leading game and system manufacturer Aristocrat Technologies Inc., has casinos across North America steamin' into the copper rush.

The company today announced that its highly successful progressive slot Cash Express is now available in penny denomination. The company began installing the penny version of its popular game last month in Nevada casinos.

Cash Express is the first Hyperlink game available in penny denomination, and joins the ranks of more than 40 Aristocrat games currently available in penny denomination. Cash Express is also available in 2-cent, 5-cent, 25-cent and $1 denominations.

"Penny slots are constantly increasing in popularity. Now, our most exciting game is available in today's most popular denomination. It's a best-of-both-worlds situation for our customers," said Dave Lucchese, vice president of sales for Aristocrat.

With the Hyperlink system, banks of Aristocrat video games are linked to four levels of progressive jackpots. As appropriate for its name, in Cash Express, the bonus features the sights and sounds of a train theme.

At the sound of a stationmaster's whistle, a lucky player is transported into the second-screen bonus, complete with digital sound and 3-D graphics. The player touches a button to stop each reel, which reveals a number. The numbers are added together to accumulate a score and the score determines which of the four levels of jackpots are won. A higher score results in a higher level of jackpot.

Once in the bonus round, a player is guaranteed to win one of the four progressive jackpots. These can range from a start-up of $5 to a grand jackpot at $40,000.

Penguin Pucks, the company's newest Hyperlink themed product, was recently approved and is currently being installed in casinos throughout Nevada and GLI jurisdictions.

Sean Evans, director of gaming for Aristocrat, stated, "We're delighted by the reception of our Hyperlink products in the U.S. Casinos are finding that their customers love the excitement and entertainment generated by the four-level jackpot combined with a strong base game.

"Aristocrat currently has over 750 Hyperlink machines installed in North America. With the development of new features and themes, we expect the demand for Hyperlink systems to continue to grow."

Aristocrat Technologies Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of global gaming leader Aristocrat Leisure Ltd., is responsible for all North and South American operations from its headquarters in Las Vegas. Aristocrat offers a diversified product line that reaches into virtually all facets of the casino floor.

In addition to both video and stepper slots, the company provides casino management systems, multi-site progressive (MSP) systems, progressive jackpot meters and casino signage.
