Aristocrat Sues IGT

15 December 2005

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has served a patent infringement lawsuit against International Game Technology (IGT) in the U.S. District Court of Nevada.

Aristocrat's lawsuit contends that IGT has willfully infringed on the Company's U.S. Patent 6,093,102 for its Reel Power(R) video slot technology, a unique style of game in which players purchase reels rather than lines, enabling 243 different winning combinations.

Aristocrat's patent protects its monopoly rights to manufacture and sell Reel Power games in the United States. The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages arising from IGT's unauthorized use of the patented technology in its Multiway(R), or "243 Ways to Win", video slot games.
