Aristocrat Stocks Surge

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: "Shares in Aristocrat Leisure Ltd racked up fresh 13-month highs after a series of wins by its international businesses heightened investor perceptions that a turnaround was in progress.

"The embattled poker machine maker's stock jumped nearly four per cent after news it had secured product approvals in New Jersey, Mississippi and Nevada - three of the largest gaming jurisdictions in the United States.

"Shares finished 11 cents higher at $3.02 (US$2.30) after pegging an intraday high at $3.06.

"…While analysts said developments over the past 24 hours had enhanced the upward trajectory of Aristocrat's share price, gains have been solid since new chief executive Paul Oneile presented 2003 results in February…"
