Aristocrat Receives Nevada Approval for New Platform

29 October 2002

LAS VEGAS--(Press Release)-- Leading gaming manufacturer Aristocrat Technologies, Inc., announced today that the Company has received approval from Nevada gaming regulators for its revolutionary new slot platform - MKVI - following a successful field trial at Harrah's Las Vegas.

MKVI, pronounced "Mark Six," presents the most advanced visual and audio technology in the slot market. The line features more than 16.7 million colors, state-of-the-art graphics that give a 3-D effect, advanced audio clarity, a synchronized 8-track sound/graphics capability and high-resolution screens. Driving the spectacle is a system with increased processing power and 24 times more program memory than previous models. This new technology allows for advanced bonus and graphical displays such as sprites, overlays, and animations.

"Our MKVI technology is truly the most advanced gaming platform Aristocrat has developed," commented Mark Newburg, president of Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. "With the tremendous performance MKVI is enjoying in GLI jurisdictions, along with the extremely successful Nevada field trial of our Double Dolphins games, we are looking forward to equally successful performance in casinos throughout Nevada."

Kent Young, Vice President of Marketing for Aristocrat added, "The MKVI platform offers tremendous graphic and bonus capabilities. Many of Aristocrat's most innovative games, such as Mr. Cashman and Reel Power, take full advantage of the power of MKVI."

MKVI was launched in GLI jurisdictions in August 2002, and was one of many new products that were on display at this year's Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
