Aristocrat Posts Record Profit

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Border Mail: "Poker machine maker Aristocrat Leisure Ltd yesterday posted a record annual net profit and has forecast further growth from the global gaming market this year and beyond.

"Sydney-based Aristocrats net profit rose 71.8 per cent to a record $244.32 million for last year, slightly above the groups guidance for a result between $225 million to $240 million.

"The profit was also in line with analyst forecasts.

"The improvement in earnings was underpinned by higher sales across Aristocrats international markets, as well as improved pricing on individual machines.

"…Major influences on the companys performance this year included the replacement cycle for new machines in Australia, the rate of market growth in North America and regulatory changes in Japan and Russia, Mr Oneile said…"
