Aristocrat Merger with Casino Data Systems Approved by Regulators

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (Press Release) -- June 22, 2001 -- Casino Data Systems (Nasdaq: CSDS) today announced that the Mississippi Gaming Commission has granted formal approval of the Agreement and plan of Merger and Proposed Acquisition of Control of Casino Data Systems and subsidiaries by Aristocrat Leisure Limited (Australia: ALL: AX) and subsidiaries.

CDS also announced today that the company has received formal approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission of the proposed acquisition. The Nevada Gaming Control Board had previously recommended approval of the acquisition.

These two regulatory approvals are important steps toward close of the merger.
