Aristocrat May Have to Postpone Nevada Slot Sale7 December 2000SYDNEY, Australia – Dec. 7, 2000 – As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: "Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. might have to wait until the second half of 2001 until it can record sales of its slot machines in Nevada. "The Sydney-based company, the world's No. 2 slot machine maker, was left off this month's agendas of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission, which must, respectively, recommend and approve Aristocrat's products before they can be sold in the state. The company also was left off November's agendas. "…The company gained approval in August to make, sell and operate slot machines in Nevada, and has said they plan to sell 2,000 to 3,000 machines in the state in 2001. "…Its shares have risen 75 percent since April 17 buoyed by news of Aristocrat sales in California in June and approval to sell machines in Nevada in August. The stock on Wednesday, in progress measured in U.S. dollars, was up 6 cents, or almost 2 percent, to $3.12…" |
