Aristocrat Hits Vegas Jackpot16 May 2002AUSTRALIA – As reported by the (Australian) Advertiser: "Shares in gaming machine maker Aristocrat soared more than 7 per cent yesterday following its agreement to supply a Las Vegas-based casino operator. "The long-term deal will see the company provide a `substantial quantity' of gaming machines at 12 properties run by Boyd Gaming Corp. "While the exact financial details of the deal were not released, investors embraced the move and sent the company's stock up 37, or 7.14 per cent, to close at $5.55. "…Aristocrat president Mark Newburg said his company's machines had received a warm reception following their recent entry into the US market. "…Sydney-based Aristocrat wants a 20 per cent share of the US slot market by 2005 as sales in the Australian market slow with some state government regulation of machine numbers…" |
