30 July 2003

MELBOURNE, Australia – As reported by the Dow Jones: “Australian poker machine manufacturer Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. Wednesday confirmed it had filed a legal claim against former chief executive Des Randall and his family for A$2.6 million (US$1.7 million).

“Aristocrat said the action filed in the New South Wales Supreme Court formed part of the company's legal defense to Randall's claim he is owned A$13 million for breach of contract following his dismissal in April.

“Randall was dismissed following several profit downgrades and an internal investigation, said Aristocrat in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

“…The company further alleges Randall was dismissed due to actions described under his employment contract as `willful disobedience, fraud, dishonesty, misbehavior or breach of duty.’…”
